What is the Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Business? 
National Diploma in Business equips you with a comprehensive understanding of the essential knowledge and skills needed to embark upon a successful business career. The BTEC National Diploma will introduce the broad range of occupational routes available to you in business and can help you progress to a more prominent position to move on to further study.
The course is designed to be adaptable to your abilities and career aspirations: it consists of four compulsory core units plus a choice of fourteen specialist units totaling 1080 guided learning hours.
The structure of the course allows you to focus on your interests, and the areas which you feel will benefit you most, such as understanding business ethics, starting a small business or managing physical resources. Please note that the units studied may vary to meet local or learner needs.
Where will this qualification take me?
Upon successful completion of this BTEC National Diploma in Business, you can start the B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Business Management or B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Computing offered by, the University of Wales UK, conducted at the Imperial Institute of Higher Education (IIHE).
This is an alternative to A/Ls, in Sri Lanka. However, even the students who have failed the A/Ls’ or not got the sufficient entry qualification to universities, can follow this course and enter to a university degree.
Final Certificate of this BTEC National Diploma in Business will be issued by the EDEXCEL of UK. This BTEC National Diploma in Business is approved and accepted by the University of Wales, UK and almost all Universities in UK other universities in commonwealth countries, as an entry qualification for their degree programmes.
The BTEC National Diploma in business has the equivalence of three G.C.E A Levels and it is possible for you to progress further into higher education, as successful BTEC National Diploma qualification gives UCAS points for university applications. Modules have been selected/designed to suit the local & global universities.

How long will it take me to complete this qualification?
The length of the course is 18 months. Normally, it will take 1 ½ academic years or 3 semesters at IIHE to complete.
What are the entry requirements?
The entry requirements for the EDEXCEL Level 3 BTEC National Diploma are 6 O/L passes with 2 credits for Math’s and English. Even the students who have failed their A/Ls can follow this course.
