The Imperial Institute of Higher Education is governed by a Board of Directors. They are,
- Mr Jit Warnakulasuriya
A very successful professional serving as Chairman of Just in Time Holdings Pvt. Ltd and 14 other companies. (current Chairman of the IIHE Board)
- Mr Pasan Madanayake
An engineering Professional Chairman of many companies involved in garment exports, chemicals and Freight Forwarding.
- Mr Bimal Perera
an IT Professional, founder Director of Millennium IT.
- Mr Sabir Jafferjee
Chairman of Many Manufacturing and trading organizations.
- Dr Thilaka S. Weerakoon – CEO / Academic Director
Senior Academic with Industrial Management experience as CEO of many organizations.
The Board of Directors are responsible for the policy marking. The CEO functions as the Managing Director provides leadership to the Executives responsible for Administration. The CEO also functions as Academic Director and in this roles provides the Academic leadership to the faculty.
The Academic Registrar - Prof. Srianthie Deraniyagala is responsible for all processes from student recruitment, to assessments, graduation and alumni.
All academic programmes are lead by a Course Director. The Course Directors are supported by Programme Managers and programme assistants to ensure the smooth functioning of each programme.
A qualified librarian with an assistant is responsible for running the library.

The Academic Registrar functions as the Superintendent of Examinations.
The Chief Invigilator is Mr A.M.R.K. Amarakoon the former Director General of Examinations of Sri Lankan Government. He is assisted by a team of invigilators who are all external officers.
The staff of IIHE are co-opted to serve on committees such as the Admissions Committee, Graduation Committee, Strategy Development Committee etc.
