The Imperial Institute of Higher Education was incorporated in October 1996, as a private tertiary Education Institution. IIHE offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate degrees in association with the, world renowned, University of Wales in the United Kingdom. The degrees awarded are validated degrees of the University of Wales (UOW).

These programs can be completed entirely in Sri Lanka. However, if the students so desire they can proceed to the UK after completing year 1 or even after completing year 2.
